Top picks for Lace Wedding Dresses

We all know that the wedding dress is a BIG deal! You aren’t a bride until you have the wedding dress that perfectly suits you! Here is the South, lace is a popular option. But how could it not be? It is elegant, refined and classic. With the option for white, ivory, embellished with pearls or  rhinestones, full body or just accents,  there is likely a lace overlay or fabric for you!  I’ve put together a list of some of my favorite lace wedding dresses and gowns for you below.

A-Line & Sheath Styles

This Maggie Sottero Rosaleigh gown is stunning! Elegant and very feminine, it offers lace detailing from head to toe!  It boasts lots of tulle and is available in a variety of color options. It also has an optional sheer top piece (as shown).

The Aryn is a slightly more fitted gown and has more traditional lace details.

Ballgown Styles

The Wtoo Brides Britt Gown is a breathtaking combination of lace and tulle- the drop waist is super flattering! This is a great lightweight ballgown. Not only romantic but luxurious too!

This Allure bridals gown is a true ballgown is a modern twist. Seen here is a light blush shade, this gown offers a full tulle skirt and lace bodice.

This is another Allure Bridals ballgown with an all-over lace applique. The sillohette is gorgeous and provides a more modern twist with the classic elements.

Mermaid Style

This Mori Lee gown is sexy! The Lace, rhinestone embellishments, fitted bodice and scalloped details make this a show stopping piece!

This Mori Lee gown is another show stopper! Although slightly more modest, the mermaid flair skirt is dramatic and bold. The bodice is floral lace and covered in sparkly details! And the back? Oh my goodness. It is simply beautiful!

Two Piece

Not for the faint of heart, this over the top couture style by Riki Dalal is for the fashion forward bride! The incredibly detailed lace bodice is eye catching and pairs perfectly with the fitted silk wrap skirt. The entire line is BOLD!

The Oleg Cassini High Neck Lace dress from David’s Bridal offers a full lace gown with a detachable a-line skirt. This works great for a daring or modest bride because it can be fitted or full.

If you’re still on the hunt for your wedding dress, some of my favorite Atlanta bridal salons are Wedding Angels, CTO Bridal, Curvique, Bel Fiore Bridal and  Sweet Elegance Bridal Salon.

Bel Fiore actually wrote a GREAT post on the Bridal Ball Atlanta blog about Wedding Dress Shopping. You can check it out here!

Happy shopping! <3

Hanna+Brett’s Primrose Cottage Wedding Day

Hanna + Brett’s hosted a timelessly beautiful and romantic wedding day at Primrose Cottage. Primrose is an Antebellum Mansion in Roswell, GA. It’s in the heart of the historic district and offers a gorgeous outdoor area (so green) and indoor ballroom with floor to ceiling windows (swoon).

The couple hosted an intimate indoor ceremony (because of the rain)- which turned our SO well. The ceremony arbor was covered in lush florals and they couple said I-DO with so much love in the room! Their reception immediately followed in the cottage’s main ballroom. They selected blush pink, gold, white and navy blue for their decor.  It was so pretty against the light wood tones and bright light that Primrose offers -it has so much character!

It was a pleasure to help this couple create their dream day. We loved working with them and wish them ALL THE BEST!

5 Steps to Organizing your Wedding Brain {Plus 3 articles from other wedding pros}

Happy Leap Day! Welcome to our Leap Blog!

Enjoy the great ideas, tips and inspirations as you Leap along through the blog leap.  You may just be starting the blog leap or may have come from Katie Snyder at Katie Snyder Photography.  If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you make sure to see and learn from all of the articles featured here today.

Five tips to organizing your Wedding Brain

Congratulations! You have found the man of your dreams and he asked you to be his wife! Now what? Where do you start? Bridal Show? Wedding Magazines? Pinterest? With so many planing options out there today it takesIt is hard to stay focus on the reason why your getting married with a never ending task list.

Step #1 Show me the Money!
Long are the days of tradition when the “Bride’s family paid for the wedding”. Talking about money is never easy, but it is crucial step in the wedding planning process. Sit down with both sets of parents and discuss the budget and your vision. This will help you narrow down your choices of venues Take care of this ASAP so that you can start planning for the wedding you can afford.

Step #2 Guest who’s coming to dinner?

Your guest list will be dictated by your budget and will assist you in choosing your venue and vendors.

When creating your guest list think about who in your lives you would want present on your Wedding Day.  Create a must invite list first with your closet family and friends.  These are the people that mean the most to you.  Cut guest that you haven’t spoken with in over a year, eliminate co-workers, second cousins, etc.  Everyone will want to be invited but not everyone is a VIP on this day.

Step #3-So, When is the big day?
The number one question after you tell your engagement story is When’s the big day? Finding the perfect wedding date can be overwhelming. Here are a few key things to consider: season and time, budget, destination, schedules, venue and vendor availability. Then choose 2-3 dates in case your preferred dates are not available.

Step #4  What’s your wedding style?
Step away from Pinboard! With so many beautiful weddings on Pinterest how do you know your wedding style?HELBR309_

Are you Classic? City Chic? Vintage? or Rustic? Your wedding style should be determined by your personal styles; from the way you dress, decorate your home to your passions. Who you are couple should be visible in the details throughout your wedding day

Step #5  Choose your Dream Team
View More: the right vendor can be tricky, so where do you start? Referrals are the best research you can do.  Talk to your friends (especially if they’ve been married recently). Personal referrals are the best. Browse through local blogs, magazines & wedding directories for advice and inspiration. Once you have researched and narrowed down your choices make an appointment with at least two vendors per category to help you compare. It is very important that you not only like their portfolio you also like them on a personal level. You need to have a team that you trust with the most important day of your life!

Bonus-Book your Vendors in the following order:

Ceremony Location
Reception Venue
Wedding Planner
Catering if not provided by the venue
Designer {Floral & Decor}

I hope these steps will help ease your “Wedding Brain” and get you focused. Remember to take some time out from planning to stay connected to your fiance and remember the reason why your getting married.

Black & White Wedding Inspiration

In search of a little black and white wedding inspiration? You’ve come to the right place!

I love a classic color palette for a wedding day. I think black and white never go out of style. It is timeless, upscale and elegant. It looks great in a variety of venues and pairs wonderfully with silver, gold, copper or rose gold. It is the perfect base for a variety of looks – from beachy to vintage, black and white works! Here are some of my favorite black and white wedding inspired looks I’ve seen recently:

Tulle covered balloon from Glitter Inc!

Black on black wedding invitation suite

This fantastic black on black invitation suite from Jupiter & Juno!

candlelit wedding ceremony at industrial chic venue

THIS gorgeous candlelit wedding ceremony on ModWedding- the black chivari chairs paired with twinkly lights, at an industrial chic venue. PERFECTION!  I’d love to see this at Terminus 330!

white bridal bouquet wrapped in black and white ribbon

This black and white ribbon wrapped bouquet from Bridal Musings on BuzzFeed is so chic!

Black wedding cake with white flower embellishment

This black and white wedding cake seen on Brides is divine!

This black and white stripe wedding reception decor, as seen on Pizzazzerie is a fantastic combination! THIS is what I’m referencing when I say POP of color. The lime green refines the look and makes it ultra modern and trendy.

What is your favorite black and white decor element? Share it with me!

Don’t think a wedding planner is for you? Think again!

Styled Shoot Twelve Hotel | Manuel Llaneras Photography

As a wedding planner, I’m passionate about making dreams come true. But more importantly, I’m passionate about my couple’s dreams. Orchestrating the details into the day you’ve always imagined. Making your dream a reality. Letting you concentrate on your love. That said, I recognize that not everyone sees the value of a wedding planner initially. We aren’t the cheapest line-item on your budget. But I promise it is for good reason.  Read on for all the reasons you NEED a planner or coordinator!

A quick bit of background before I dive in: I’m part of a community of professionals in the wedding industry called The Rising Tide Society. We value community over competition. We strive to serve our clients to the best of our ability and to build a strong network of like-minded professionals. Through this community, I’ve met other planners that share the same ideology as Irene Tyndale Events.  This post, from a wedding planning company based in the mid-west, answers some common objections that I hear from couples. I would also like to address the following frequently asked questions (and shed more light on the venue coordinator vs. wedding coordinator question).

There are two BIG reasons that people don’t book a wedding coordinator or planner. One- price. Two- the venue has an on-site coordinator.

First- again, planners recognize that putting us into your budget is daunting. Your FIRST stop should be a planner so that we can fit your budget AROUND US! We’ll help you stretch a $10,000 budget, or wisely spend a $50,000 budget. When we are your first vendor selection, we can and will make any budget that you have workable. If you book us late in the game, you may not have realized that you could have shaved $500 off that catering bill or $1,000 off the DJ.   Our objective is to make things happen. We will keep your expectations realistic, but we will also finesse your budget in ways that you may not have thought of yourselves! You plan your wedding once- we’ve likely planned quite a few and have learned from other bride’s successes and mistakes. We can pass that knowledge on to you!

Second- we LOVE venue coordinators. A good one makes our lives easier and makes the planning experience that much more pleasurable for you. HOWEVER, a venue coordinator will NOT help you with invitation wording. They won’t attend your cake tasting. They won’t gather your RSVPs or help you determine where best to seat Uncle Bob and Aunt Karen. They won’t sit with your while you have your hair and make-up done, with your fruit plate and lunch, so that you don’t get dizzy from hunger while you’re walking down the aisle.  They won’t attend your final dress fitting to learn how to bustle your gown in case your maid of honor is cutting a rug on the dance floor. They won’t take your gifts to your car at midnight or deliver guest’s goodie bags to the hotel.  They WILL help you ensure that the actual day of AT THE VENUE is flawless. That the food is delivered HOT, that your DJ sets up in the right spot. That the florist knows where to park. When it comes to success for the reception, they’ll do everything they can to make it wonderful. But their job ends when your reception is over.

Not having a wedding planner is one of the most common regrets of couples after the big day is over. Don’t be one of them! Send us an email or give us a quick call. It will be the next best decision to saying YES!

Calling all Atlanta GROOMS!

Atlanta Groom seeing his bride for the first time, walking down the aisle

You’re getting married! Congrats! Now that the nerve-racking proposal planning is complete and she’s said yes…did you think the planning would continue, or that your role would be done until your walk down the aisle? We’d love to hear how you plan to participate on the big day. We’ve created a short survey here. We service COUPLES. There would be no bride, without her groom. We know how important this day is for both of you, and we’re here to help each of you with the planning. Although traditionally bride’s do the majority of the planning, we LOVE seeing the new trend of couple planning because it is YOUR day. This is about joining two people in marriage, and marriage requires two individuals!

Atlanta Wedding Planner- Rubymel and Cutler’s Callanwolde Fine Art Center

In this traditional Jewish ceremony, Rubymel and Cutler tied the knot at the Callanwolde Fine Art Center. During the beautiful outdoor ceremony, The chuppah soft pink fabric draping swayed gently in the breeze while these two said their vows. After signing the ketubah (marriage contract) and the breaking of a glass,  this gorgeous couple became husband and wife!

Following the ceremony was an elegant reception,We loved the bright, yet soft pink and white colors, paired with the dramatic and rich colors of the Callanwolde.

We had a great time working for Rubymel and Cutler. They had such sweet demeanors and they are both super smart. They made great choices with their vendors and were thoughtful about their wedding day flow. They threw a great party and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves!

Isn’t Rubymel such a bombshell too? Her lace mermaid gown was a stunner – such a perfect fit for her!

We so enjoyed your laughter and love, and are honored to be part of the big day. Wishing you two all the best!

Atlanta Wedding Planner – Angela & Rich’s Tavern at Piedmont Park Wedding

I’m a sucker for black and white weddings. Add a little pop of color and I’m sold!  Angela and Rich had a low-key, but elegant and tasteful gathering. They wanted something intimate that involved friends and family as much as possible.

They were married at the Tavern at Piedmont Park- Angela’s princess ball gown was perfect for her- and Rich’s face when he saw her was priceless! They had a traditional ceremony with a unity candle ceremony.

Our bride carried a simple bouquet of white roses, wax flower and pretty green foliage tied in gold lace ribbon. Bridesmaids carried a single white rose, wrapped in the same gold lace ribbon. We created a simple centerpiece of white flowers and foliage, some of which were silks.  We added granny smith apples for a pop of beautiful green on the black napkins.

The couple danced the night away to the beat of their favorite club DJ- who happened to be a family friend. Gigi’s Cupcakes provided the delicious cake- which was perfect for face smashing. Ha!

Thank you, Angela and Rich, for inviting us to be part of your sweet, intimate wedding day!

Atlanta Wedding Planner – Amy & Matt’s The Brickyard Wedding

We obviously love weddings. Each one unique in its own way. But we have a special place in our heart for a church wedding! First Presbyterian Church is full of classic southern architecture. The white paneling and pews are a fabulous contrast to the rich mahogany wood details. With a pop of coral paint, it is truly beautiful.

Amy opted for a full Satin ballgown Satin & Crystal embellishments and with button details on the back. She adorned herself with crystals and pearls.

Her bridesmaids wore cute aqua chiffon cocktail dresses and all of the ladies carried bouquets of white roses, green cymbidium orchids and hydrangea.

Amy and Matt have a little spunk to their relationship- so this red and white T-bird Ford fit Amy & Matt’s personalities to a T (no pun intended!)! This one actually belongs to Matt’s dad. An old classic car is a great getaway vehicle and makes for such a neat photo!

A father’s first-look at his daughter has just as much impact on me as a the groom’s first look.  A father seeing his little girl all grown up and beginning her journey as a wife is monumental. If you don’t opt for a first look with your groom, we highly recommend a first look photo with your father!

Amy’s father was actually one of the ceremony officiants! He did a wonderfully sentimental and romantic reading for the newlyweds after walking his little girl down the aisle.

After the ceremony and photos, the celebration continued at the Brickyard. The Brickyard is a great industrial chic venue- one of the many reasons we love working there is that it makes a great canvas for any decor. Dressed up or down, it looks great!

Guests dined on “breakfast for dinner” by Carriage House Catering and danced the night away thanks to Fonix Entertainment. And let’s not forget the dessert! Delectable dessert provided by Miss Mamie’s Bakery!

Atlanta Wedding Planner- Sarah & William, Callonwolde Fine Art Center

Stunning doesn’t even begin to describe Sarah & William’s wedding day!  The pure emotion behind a wedding day often takes my breathe away. And no matter how many ceremonies I see, i still get misty eyed thinking about. But my goodness- these two are such a picture perfect couple. So kind, caring and in-love!

I’m a sucker for a clean color pallet.  Sarah & William opted for a classic black and white with pops of silver- which was such a beautiful pairing in the Callonwolde Fine Art Center’s space. I adore this venue!  Between that fabulous grand staircase, crystal & fabric draped ceiling and perfectly placed lighting, it was hard to pick a favorite photo! All the decor elements flowed together effortlessly!

The amazing (and delicious) food was provided by Zest Catering. They did a fantastic job on the display- it was all so delectable! The rose petals made for such a soft touch with the mirrored displays too!
