Reese’s Bat Mitzvah- Terminus 330

When it comes to Mitzvahs, FUN is the name of the game. And Reese’s Terminus 300 Bat Mitzavh party was an explosion of jewel tone neon color that we can’t get enough of!

One of the things we love most about Mitzvah planning is how different it is from weddings! If you’ve spent time poking around our site or on our social media, you likely already know that weddings are the biggest part of our business. And we love it. But we also love stepping “outside the box” to plan non-wedding events. It keeps us on our toes and our ideas fresh!

For the color palette, Reese chose teal, purple & black, with small splashes of fuschia.  It worked really well at the venue, which has an industrial vibe and great natural light.  The kids spent time in the main room of the venue, while parents could be nearby, but out of sight,  in the Cellar downstairs. It was an ideal setting for everyone!

The food was great- we especially loved the cookie + ice cream food tuck. It was a huge hit after the tasty buffet display was scarfed down.

Everyone partied into the evening with glowsticks and lots of photobooth shots. It was a blast and we’re so happy to have been able to assist Reese and her family with planning & executing this special occasion!

Winter Wonderland Wedding Inspiration

As the cool weather comes in with its shorter days, you may find yourself curled up around the fire with the one you love. Wrapped in warm blankets next to a fire pit, fingers intertwined and holding tightly to one another. Dreaming about your future together.

Let’s dream together about your wedding. A winter wedding could be the warm and breathtaking season you didn’t even know you had been looking for to capture a unique classic and cozy wedding day.

A winter wedding provides the setting for textures and hope. A feeling of comfortable elegance moves over us like a crisp breeze through the air of your wedding day.

Imagine your wedding gown full and around your shoulders a knit shawl providing a touch of comfort and ease. Possibly, a long-sleeved, high neckline dress with the deep swooped back that brings in a class that thankfully Audrey Heparin passed on to us.

Your guests can warm themselves with hot cocoa, coffee and grandmothers homemade pie while you and the lover of your soul dance under twinkle lights twirling around branches and garland arching over your heads.

Can you feel it?

We love the deep shades a winter wedding has to offer, and the textures you can add from steam wear to garland twirled with twinkle lights.

Rebecca + Lewis’ Elegant, Industrial Terminus 330 Wedding

Rebecca and Lewis’ Terminus 330 wedding in mid-town Atlanta was a BLAST! These two are firecrackers and were a joy to work with.

The decor included tons of greenery, candlelight, and gold.  It was understated romance and perfect for Terminus’ industrial chic venue.

Guest favors were a collection of sweet treats- which is always a popular option to cap off the night (you really can’t go wrong with a consumable favor).

The night concluded with a visit from the Clemson Mascot and Terminus’ signature confetti cannon (which was one of the couple’s favorite parts of the night)!

Tatiana + Chris’ Venetian Room Spring Wedding

Tatiana and Chris held a traditional Christian church wedding, following with a reception at one of our favorite Atlanta wedding venues, The Venetian Room.
The bride is a natural beauty and was pure princess perfection on the wedding day. She and Chris shared a sweet first touch before her proud papa walked her down the aisle.
After the couple’s emotional ceremony, it was time to let loose at the reception!  It was glamorous, elegant and FUN!   We love the vibe of Latin weddings- they’re so festive and celebratory!
Diana, the photographer, captured our prayer before the reception so beautifully. We love to pray with our couples on the wedding day and it was a blessing (no pun intended) to see this moment captured.
The maroon and gold combination was bold and dramatic- perfect for The Venetian Room.  The soft white florals tied everything together wonderfully,  adding a romantic touch.
There is no doubt that Tatiana & Chris’ big day was beautiful and that they’re crazy in love. We’re blessed and fortunate to have been able to assist them and wish them all the best in the future.

Atlanta Wedding Planner | Crash my Wedding, Terminus 330

We love a memorable wedding with a great story. And Jen & Ty’s wedding hosted at midtown Atlanta wedding venue, Terminus 330 was definitely that! It was dubbed the “Crash my wedding” event of the year!

So, a little back story for you. Atlanta Streets Alive is a biking, walking, healthy lifestyle initiate that was hosted on the Westside for the first time passing right in front of Terminus. The two businesses had the idea to host a wedding in the street in front of the venue to celebrate & bring exposure to the ASA cause. Our couple, Ty & Jen, loved the idea and we planned an amazing wedding with 40 of their family/Friends & over 1,000 strangers! Everyone was invited to watch the wedding, dance, have appetizers and enjoy the cash bar. It was amazing strangers all became guests and really enjoyed being a part of Jen & Ty’s wedding day.

The wedding was eclectic, festive, and forward thinking, and not one we’ll forget anytime soon. Truly an experience of a lifetime that we’re so honored to have been a part of.

Make IT Stylish – Brides Against Breast Cancer

We love hearing about wedding businesses and vendors who give back to the community, and today we want to feature a very special organization, Brides Against Breast Cancer in Atlanta, GA. This organization recently came into our lives because of our affiliation with Bridal Ball (more details on that below).

Brides Against Breast Cancer studio

Brides Against Breast Cancer (“BABC”) formed in 1997 as a charity and has since helped thousands of women buy affordable, pre-owned wedding gowns and has donated millions to cancer-related charities. For the past 20 years, BABC has been touring across America, hosting bridal shows that have helped those impacted by cancer, one dress at a time.

In late 2016, BABC was relaunched from Atlanta under new ownership and management. They formed as a social enterprise company with national charity partners, and they support breast cancer causes nationwide due to their partnership with Living Beyond Breast Cancer. BABC also has a partnership with Georgia Breast Cancer Coalition Fund, which is one of the biggest and most active breast cancer charities in the state of Georgia.

If you are a former bride wishing to donate a wedding dress to this wonderful cause, the process is quite simple. Just mail them your gown to the address provided and complete the web form on their website. That’s it! They do request gowns that are less than 5 years old and that are in good condition. They also accept veils, tiaras and other wedding accessories.

Get your ticket the Bridal Ball & Brides Against Breast Cancer Wedding Showcase of the Intercontinental Buckhead on July 16th here! We’ll be there and would love to see YOU there too!

Make IT Happen: Wedding Timeline Tips

Among all of the checklists, to-dos and other wedding details, the wedding day timeline is probably one of the most important! While the timeline is more of a guideline of how the day will go, it’s extremely helpful to keep things on track for both your vendors and your guests. Here are a few things to keep in mind when creating a timeline for your wedding day.

Photography Schedule
Bride and groom hand heart, Georgia wedding planner

It’s important to consider when and where you will be taking photos throughout the day. If you are willing to see each other before the ceremony, then you have more time during cocktail hour to mingle with your guests, which is what I recommend. It is becoming more popular to do a “first look” session, followed by wedding party and family photos prior to the wedding ceremony. Otherwise, if you prefer to not see each other before the ceremony, it is recommended to have an extended cocktail hour (1.5-2 hours) so you have enough time to take photos and still enjoy a portion of your social hour before the reception begins!

Receiving Line
Bride and groom ceremony exit, Georgia wedding planner

A receiving line can occur in a few different formats. You can dismiss guests by row (after the recessional), where you greet each guest before they exit the ceremony. Your parents can also dismiss guests by row, where the guests then greet you outside of the ceremony venue. Another more casual option is to greet guests during your cocktail hour, if you aren’t offsite taking photos. Regardless, plan for about 30 minutes per 100 guests for a receiving line when creating your wedding day timeline.

Food Timing
wedding food catering, Georgia wedding planner

The timing of wedding food service ultimately depends on the style of service and how many guests you have. Common food service options include plated, buffet and family style. For plated and family style service, it takes about 30-40 minutes to serve each course. Buffets take roughly 30 minutes per 100 guests, and I recommend double-sided buffets to ensure a speedy experience!
